Still reeling

From MO's leaving yesterday. We, neighbor's M&B helped MO load the 16 animals into crates, then into the Ryder truck she rented to drive to SF to fly everyone out to Scotland. She took 7 dogs and 9 cats on that long haul from Idaho to Scotland. She should be somewhere over the ocean by now. And hopefully they are all healthy and well. Now just waiting for the e-mail from her neice that they all made it in one piece - hope to hear something by Friday.

For MO in memory of Brayak

Did this painting - collage for MO in memory of her dog Brayak. She wanted something different than just a framed photo of him and asked me if I could do something with the photo and painting. this is the end result. She is leaving tomorrow afternoon to drive herself and her 14 animals (dogs and cats) to SF to fly back to Scotland. We are hoping and praying that they all make it in one piece and things go smoothly for her. I hate even thinking about her leaving, but I know that it is what's best for her. And I am hoping to go over to Scotland next year to visit. Will maybe have to make it a regular outing now that she will be over there. I am so going to miss her.

Sunsets

I love sunset's. And we have some really awesome sunsets right out side our front door. This photo was taken from my front yard (not today, because the one I took today was all blurry, out of focus and was getting to dark) I can't wait to order my new digital camera and get even better photos.

Elton John is coming to Boise again. I saw him in 1999 and it was incredible, that concert was just him and his piano. this time it's with his band. I would really love to go but at $95 a ticket not sure I can justify it what with the cruise that lj and I are going on in Novemeber. tickets go on sale Monday so I will need to make up my mind one way or another as to if I'm going to go or not....tata for now.

YeeHaw.....

I am so excited. Our county/town has a Visual Arts group and art roster for local artist's. To get into the roster you must be juried in. I had to submit 3 pieces of my artwork to be judged. And I made it. Small though it be it is still a first step in becoming more confident in my artwork and actually getting out into the public eye. They sponsor art shows around the county with one or two bigger ones at a winery that's in the next small town. I've been on pins and needles for the last few weeks wondering if I was going to make it into the roster. I almost feel like Sally Fields when she uttered those infamous lines at the Academy Awards years ago....'You like me, you really like me' or something along those lines.
Another really cool event coming up is the publication of the book by Gabe Cyr - 'New Directions in Altered Books'. One of the pages I submitted (I only submitted two) is going to be in the book....the book comes out in July and I can hardly wait.
